Analyst Brian Moretta discusses Endeavour's Managed EIS Follow-On Portfolio Service with Larissa Adams and this video shines a spotlight on this fund.
The Endeavour Ventures Managed EIS Follow-On Portfolio Service takes a distinctive approach to EIS investing by focusing primarily on later-stage follow-on funding rounds rather than making first investments. The portfolio aims to provide six to eight investments in each tax year, with a strong emphasis on B2B SaaS and scalable software companies. By investing after businesses have demonstrated product-market fit, revenue growth and management capability, Endeavour aims to reduce some of the execution risk typically associated with earlier-stage EIS investing while targeting attractive long-term returns.
Endeavour has more than 20 years of venture investing experience and has raised over £80m for direct EIS investments since 2005. Most opportunities for the Managed EIS Follow-On Portfolio Service are sourced from follow-on rounds within Endeavour’s existing portfolio of 38 active companies, giving the investment team years of prior knowledge before committing additional capital. This is supplemented by relationships with other established EIS managers, entrepreneurs, advisers, accelerators and business schools, as well as proprietary AI-driven screening tools.
A key feature of the Managed EIS Follow-On Portfolio Service is its active post-investment support. Endeavour typically takes a board seat and works closely with management teams on financial reporting, pricing strategy, recruitment of senior executives and future fundraising. Although the portfolio service itself is new, Endeavour’s broader track record provides investors with a substantial performance history: since 2005 the firm has invested approximately £83m into 74 companies, with 38 exits generating a realised multiple of 5.3x and the remaining portfolio carrying an unrealised multiple of 2.25x.
