In this interview, Hardman & Co analyst Mark Thomas outlines how Real Estate Credit Investments (RECI) continues to offer a dividend yield of around 10%, with its long-standing 3p quarterly dividend maintained despite remaining uncovered in FY26. Mark explains why he believes there are clear routes to restoring dividend cover, why the board appears committed to maintaining the current payout, and what could drive earnings higher over time. He also discusses the quality of RECI’s portfolio, with 92% of the portfolio performing and clear strategies in place to manage problem and defaulting assets. Mark says that while leverage has increased, it is still conservative in absolute and in relative terms.
