Arbuthnot Banking Group, through its subsidiary Arbuthnot Latham, offers private banking, wealth management and commercial banking products.
The private bank offers all the traditional services including wealth planning, investment management and savings/deposit products. Commercial banking is delivered by a mix of teams with sector specialism (media, real estate), product focus (asset finance) and regional teams in the South West and North West. The group is trialling several initiatives including a property fund, a team providing bridging finance for property businesses and entrepreneurs and the launch of a direct savings offering online. The group has been conservatively run with deposits well in excess of loans and strong capital ratios. ABG holds a residual stake in Secure Trust Bank but we do not regard this as a core business and, given its current regulatory treatment, any sale is likely to further strengthen the group’s capital ratios.
